Therefore, smokers should eat foods rich in vitamins such as, milk, carrots, peanuts, corn, bean sprouts, cabbage and vegetables frequently. Drinking tea frequently in daily life can also help to reduce the harm caused by smoking. So, smokers should avoid eating too much meat that contains saturated fatty acid, but to add some foods which can reduce or inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol, such as, milk, fish, bean products and some high fiber foods such as, chili powder, cinnamon and fruit and vegetables.

Nuts and coarse grains and other foods which contain vitamin E can decrease the rate of incidence of lung cancer to 20 percent for smokers. Vitamin E-rich foods includes, soybean oil and oil that pressed by other plant seeds; nuts such as, apricot, almond, filbert, walnut seed, sunflower seeds and coarse grains.

β-carotene has more benefits to smokers. The rming foods rich inβ-carotene can effectively inhibit the smokers' addiction for cigarette, thus it plays a certain role on reducing the smoking amount or quitting smoking. Thus, smokers can eat foods rich inβ-carotene, such as, carrots, spinach, pea sprouts, alfalfa and chili.
