Why Is Mobile Phone Recycling So Important For The Environment?
Recycling has really been around for perhaps thousands of years! For example, ancient civilizations that began making metal products, could melt down old broken items like pots or blades and make new ones. More recently, during World War I and II, individuals would have paper drives and metal drives to collect materials for the warfare effort. Nothing was negligible! When landfilling became an inexpensive way to dispose of trash in the 1940's and 1950's, recycling was less frequent.
But modern reprocessing of glass, paper, cans, etc. became more popular again in the 1970's with drop-off recycling centers. Mother nature is, of course, the ultimate recycler... without the natural decay or composting process, we'd all be covered in leaves and other dead organic matter! Beyond the recycling of glass, paper and cans, we have also realized that we can recycle other things as well such as mobile phones.
Mobile phone recycling started just a few years ago, but has recently started to become more and more popular. One of the biggest changes is that you can now sell your mobile and get cash for phones. This process has started over the last few years and frankly, I think it's a good "reel in". You have people, such as myself, that have more than one non-usable mobile phones. I have quite a few piled up in my drawers at home.
I could just as well throw it away, but instead of doing that, I kept thinking (and worrying) that this wasn't the right thing to do. After looking online some time for mobile phone recycling I found quite a few sites with information on other websites where you could do mobile phone recycling. There are two main types of mobile phone recycling. There are the cash for phones sites where I can sell my mobile, or where you can sell your mobile, and get that cash for phones deal. You find a site, put in your mobile phone brand and model and see who offers the best price for mobile phone recycling.
The other thing you can do is donate a mobile phone to your community, to the homeless and to the Military. Frankly, this is really going to depend on you and what or who you want to give your phone recycling to. I chose to actually sell my mobile for cash because while I would like to give my phone to a person in need, I also spent quite a few dollars on buying that phone.
Getting at least some of my money back, makes me feel good! You can find mobile phone recycling sites that let you sell mobile or do recycle mobile or you can find sites that buy your specific mobile such as iPhone recycling or Droid recycling!
