Vegetables can also be grilled to fit in to your Five a Day rule. Consider some veggie kebobs that comes with peppers and pineapples. You can add some lean cuts of beef or chicken as well or you can try them by themselves. Doing this your family will be satisfied with the meals. Remember to cook them over medium hot coals so they don't burn but cook through.

Another good idea would be making fruit smoothies with fresh fruits. Try various fruits, add some crushed ice and fruti juice.

Make a quick fruit salad with canned mandarin oranges and some fresh fruit tossed in. This might include apples, bananas, strawberries, and whatever else you like. Usually you can make a salad like this in below five minutes!

Try spinach, tangerine chunks, grapes, diced carrots, apple chunks, raisins, bits of pineapple, and whatever else suits your fancy. Then your salad will seem very approachable to you and it will be full of many different nutrients. This will be perfect for your Five a Day goal.

You can even make your own salad dressings with items like fruit juices and flavored vinegars. Thwo some home-grown herbs in there. Salads are a very significant part of that Five a Day goal and of healthy eating, so avoiding fat-laden salad dressings are essential for anyone concerned about their health overall.
