In the national survey among 30 major metropolitan areas, only Denver in Colorado was great enough to surpass the achievements of the San Diego area.
The national survey polled by the Pew Research Center included both the young and the old, male or female, liberal or conservative, rich or poor, and the college students who collectively gave high marks to San Diego. However, the same could not be said of the females from the rural areas with about half of them saying they would prefer to live somewhere else.
