Working as a chef in a catering job offers a wide variety of experiences in creating differing kinds of foods. New things can be tried out. Most private catering services will require chefs who are able to work alone when necessary. In such a case, the catering chef will be required to make all or most of the dishes and to do these all at once. Such a chef will have to demonstrate capabilities as a sous chef, pastry chef, food preparation worker, and even a server, as necessary
