For general insecticidal use, you can create a 10% solution of boracic acid in water and apply it on furniture. But do a test on hidden surfaces of furniture to check if discoloration occurs. Don't apply the acid solution right away without doing a discoloration test beforehand. Just don't anticipate effects right away because it takes some time.
