Floodplain Management and Water Damage in Ohio

Ohio has an ongoing program called The Floodplain Management Program, which provides advice and information on the reduction the impact of flooding. The June-1990 flooding along Wegee & Pipe creeks killed 26 people.

Thus, an effort to reverse the trend of rising flood damage is important. Local, state, and federal establishments need to have a variety of programs that can be keep the residents safe and secure. Examples of what can be done include the construction of dams, levees, and floodwalls and flood disaster relief through tax adjustments.
