Fort Myers have made an expansion in its treatment process that have allowed the South Plant to reclaim the water and make them more effective for reuse. In order to do this, the disinfection processes have been improved to keep pace with the advancements in technology.

They are composed of products that are flushed down toilets, sinks, restaurants, and garbage disposals. Sewage is mainly made up of water but can include debris such as trash. Mixed liquor is a term that is used to refer to the mixture of raw sewage and activated sludge. This is the core process of any biological wastewater treatments. When it is properly done the mixed liquor can eat away at the pollutants in order to become more environmentally safe.
